About Easton
In 1922, Doug Easton began crafting custom wood bows and cedar arrows in Watsonville, California. Although Doug produced tournament-grade, footed cedar arrows for the archery champions of that era, he was constantly frustrated with the inconsistency and lack of uniformity of wood shafts. Convinced that consistently straight uniform arrow shafts were impossible to manufacture from wood, Doug turned his attentions to aluminum. In 1939, he began manufacturing aluminum arrows in Los Angeles. His instincts about this material were correct, and in 1941, California archer Larry Hughes won the national championship with a set of Doug's aluminum arrows. This was the beginning of a trend that would change traditional archery and transcend into numerous other sports arenas over the next 50 years.

Today, Jas. D. Easton, Inc. is a privately owned manufacturer, marketer, and distributor of sporting equipment, headquartered in Van Nuys, California. It currently employs more than 1,000 people worldwide in various distribution, manufacturing, sales and marketing capacities. Other operations are located in Salt Lake City, Utah, Mexico, and Canada. Easton is considered one of the world's preeminent innovators, designers, and manufacturers of sporting equipment. Much of this success is due to Easton's corporate strategy centered around producing products for the highest level of performance. Throughout its history, Easton has not only grown from within, but through the selective acquisition of other technology-based sporting goods companies.

4 out of 5 stars Easton SX70 Softball Bat   July 12, 2010
Boss
The bat feels good in the hands and has some nice pop to it. The team has began to notice the mishits seem to carry further than balls you feel like you made great contact with. Good contact seems to really put some spin on the ball. Seems like more of a line drive bat than a deep ball bat.

4 out of 5 stars good bat   July 11, 2010

I bought this bat because our rec team did not have any bats. I thought it would be a good starter bat and it has been worth it.

5 out of 5 stars A good bat and step up from the walmart special   June 7, 2010

I bought the 34" 30oz. version of this bat. I play in a recreational co-ed league. I was looking for a larger / heavier bat for the men to use. I found my teammate's 33" 26oz. bat much too light. Most of the men agree that this heavier bat allows them to drive the ball much further. I wasn't looking to spend $200 - $300 a bat but wanted something nicer / better then the local walmart bats. So far this had fit the bill!

5 out of 5 stars Maybe not lucky but my hits have improved a lot   June 3, 2010
James Hewitt
I started off this season with a new bat and glove. I am really happy with this bat. I find that I can aim my hits more often and that I get better results on the average. I used to borrow my buddies bats all the time but wanted to get my own to help with consistancy. I really am happy with this bat

I bought this bat 2 seasons ago and am on my 3rd season with it. It has really nice control and the grip helps you deliver a nice solid followthrough upon impact. Its holding up really well and several guys on my team always want to borrow it.
