3 out of 5 stars A bit disappointing   July 9, 2010

I have 2 older models of the Easton Hammer bats, one 34/30, and the other a 33/26. They were both built solidly. But this new SK4 model of Hammer (I bought a 34/28) feels flimsier. If you hold the bat by the handle loosely and let it hang vertically, and knock on the "sweet spot" of the bat, it vibrates for a long time. In case you don't what that means, the vibrations takes away the energy that could've been directed back to the ball which would have driven the ball further. The vibration also causes the "sting" in your palms.

Neither of the 2 older Hammer bats feel as thin-walled as this newer SK4, so you feel you can hit the ball more solidly w/o the sting.

So I won't really recommend this bat unless you just need a cheap bat to throw in the team equipment bag. I definitely would not recommend using this bat for modified fast-pitch ball, the "sting" would be more pronounced.

This bat is not all bad. The good thing about this bat is that its weight is very well-balanced for the more finesse-type hitters, and the handle is thicker vs. the thin handles of the fancier bats for power hitters, this bat's balance weight and thicker handle allow for better control and quicker swing. I just wish it's built tougher.

In comparison, I would recommend the Easton Cyclone model over this, and they are similar in price (maybe $10 more)

I ordered this product and it was shipped. I tracked it down to SC and was expecting delivery but it never came. When I checked Amazon tracking it said that the package was refused (but I never refused the package). When I checked UPS tracking it said the package arrived empty. I was promised a refund, but as of now I have not received any money back for this bat I never received.

when you pay 20 dollars for a bat you cant really expect that much, this bat hits better than the 250 dollar bats the people on our team were hitting with.. we love it

4 out of 5 stars Most bat for your money   August 19, 2009

For $20 this bat does anything you can ask of a $20 bat, and more. I bought this bat expecting to use it for line drives and playing small ball, but I decided to give a few big swings and actually hit this further than the $200 bats I was using earlier in the game. I don't know how it will hold up tho as I've only had it for a week. No complaints thus far.

1 out of 5 stars Defective   August 2, 2009

Easton apparently has terrible quality control. This bat arrived with a loose piece of something in the inside that moved when swung hard. I'd certainly not recommend this.
